Adventures in Boston

Yesterday we drove down to Boston with Lucy and her Mummy to visit Finnegan and his Mummy. They were really excited about the trip. Lucy was so excited she slept the whole way, Toby was so excited he screamed!


Toby got his first solo ride on a swing.

Finn and Toby got to play in the water park, Lucy is a little too small for that.


They also took all the toys out of the tubs and played in the tubs.

Toby and Lucy both screamed on and off all the way home but they did have a lovely day.

Finn's First Birthday

Finn's First Birthday Party was at his Grandparents house in Cape Elizabeth. Toby was so excited that he screamed for the last ten minutes of the car ride. They always like being reunited...

We came prepared with swim diapers and his swimsuit,

to hang out with the guys in the pool,

once he realised it was like a big bath, he was perfectlly happy.

Toby's Day Out

We had a wonderuflly exhausting day today. Grandma and Pep came by early this morning and whisked Toby and Mummy away to Damariscotta to visit Auntie Rachelle and the Puffins. Toby was a tad cranky there and back but had a great day when he wasn't travelling.


He even had enough energy when he got home to chop all this wood, Daddy watched movies all day while we were gone!

Mummy's Birthday

Toby gave me hugs and Daddy changed the poopy diaper! Best Birthday present ever!

Toby's weekend - oh and we did stuff too...

Toby spent Sunday Morning at home with Aunt Amanda and Uncle Dillon while Ben and I went to church. They had a lot of fun and I believe Dillon was peed on!


We had a great morning but it was nice to get home to Toby.

On Saturday night Toby played with Grandma while we went out and pretended to be people instead of parents. We went to the Hibachi in Westbrook and Ben got squirted with far too much Saki!




Oh and I had my first Margarita since August 2008 - it was delicious!

My Screen saver is no longer Toby... it is Toby in England! I love getting back to my desk and seeing things like this...

"Gandad"

Finally! I was not imagining it!

A few weeks go as we turned the webcam on to talk to mum and dad in England Toby smiled and said "Gandad." Of course no one else heard it and I hated to commit to what I'd heard so we let it slide. Then a few days later there it was again but still no witnesses! Yesterday as we turned the camera on the little cutie pie whispered it so quietly I was certain I was doomed to be the only witness. But then out of the blue, pretty loudly, right in front of the camera with Daddy, Nanny and "Gandad" in earshot there it was

"GANDAD"

Oh my goodness my heart just about broke in half. Aside from my Dad and before I met Ben the biggest love of my life was my Grandad Bennett. That Toby's two words are "Gandad" and "Daddy" absolutely kills me.

Of course he did say "I-Sko-bee" after sneezing a few months ago.

And "E-O" after we said hello to him in England

But I think when asked what his first word was, it just has to be his "Gandad".

Well then..

... thankfully the stomach bug took one of us on Saturday, one of us on Sunday and bypassed Toby. This weekend sucked but then we always have this to cheer us up...
